Youth Football Development meeting.
The BAFL would like to announce plans for a youth football development meeting to be held in Q4 2009.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss the future of youth football and to create awareness of good practice. In an effort to make the meeting more productive, youth-junior kitted clubs and flag clubs will convene in separate rooms.
The date of the meeting will be set once we receive feed back from the clubs. Topics on the agenda (but not limited too) are:
- Issues and concerns facing your club
- Problems you have faced and cover come
- Club governance
- Best practice
- Recruitment of player
- Recruitment of staff
- Player development
- Staff development
- Coaching and coach education
- Retention of players
- Football operations
- Grass roots development
- Facilities
- League structure
- League entry criteria
- Competitions/seasons
- Play off format
- Holidays and exams periods
- GB Lions youth
We shall be announcing the appointment of a junior contact liaison officer and youth contact liaison officer in the not too distant future.
All clubs will be contacted by the League officers in due course, to discuss the topics listed above to collate your thoughts and suggestions. So, can I please ask you to spare a few minutes to put your thoughts to paper for discussion when contacted.
The out come of this meeting will dictate the way forward for youth football for the near future and as such your input is greatly needed.
