The British American Football League is delighted to confirm the 2009 alignments and regular season schedule for both the Adult and Youth Contact leagues.

Fifty teams will take part in the adult contact league this year, a milestone not seen since 1996. Four teams successfully went through the Associate Membership process in 2008, the Inverness based Highland Wildcats, the Clyde Valley Blackhawks, the Gloucester Banshees and the London Olympians and now take their places in BAFL 2.

The BAFL Premier will consist of five teams this season. Last year following the withdrawal of the London Olympians just prior to the season the remaining seven teams proceeded knowing that fulfilment of all regular season games would result in no relegation. However two teams failed to achieve this leaving just five remaining teams and the newly promoted Sussex Thunder. Regretfully this has left the East Kilbride Pirates with a difficult decision to make regarding the travelling and as a result of this they have decided to move into BAFL 1 for this season. The remaining five teams will play an eight game regular season.

BAFL 1 has been expanded to ten teams split into three conferences, the northern conference will consist of seven teams to accomodate the Pirates with the other two conferences each having six teams. BAFL 2 has twenty six teams split across six different conferences.

BAFL Youth has grown from seventeen teams in 2008 to twenty three teams across four conferences.

The regular season schedules can be downloaded from the following links however please note that ALL schedules are subject to change.

Details regarding playoffs will follow shortly.
