Great Britain flag coach to lead Sharks
Posted in: Chichester Sharks, BAFL Adult Flag    By Gary Robinson Mar 25, 2008 - 9:59:02 AM

The Chichester Sharks 2008 season got off to a great start this week, with the announcement that Great Britain Lions flag coach, Dayle Kirby has been appointed the club's new Head Coach. Kirby joined the Sharks as a player last year and was instrumental in Chichester securing their second National Championship title in the ESFL. With the move to the new BAFL Flag league, Kirby was keen to step up and take on the coaching of the Sharks.

His first act as new coach was to announce his coaching staff. Defensive captain Dave Lee takes on the Defensive Coordinator role, whilst Sharks quarterback, Neil Henderson, takes on a player-coach role as Offensive Coordinator.

"This is an exciting time for Chichester Sharks flag football since joining the new BAFL Flag League", said Kirby who has 15 years experience of flag and kitted American football, both on the domestic and international level, "it’s important we start the season with the same intensity we displayed in ending the last one, with the National Title win. Whilst we have a core of very experience players, I think it's important we continue to bring in new blood to the team. I'm looking for a range of experience, from those who have already played the game to anyone who has watched it on television and fancies having a go themselves – they should all get in touch, we'd love to hear from them".

Coach Kirby can be reached through the team website, www.chichestersharks.co.uk or by email – info@chichestersharks.co.uk.
