Blue Raiders prepare for new season

 

Hot on the heels of a successful first season in the BAFL, the Bedfordshire Blue Raiders begin preparations for the 2009 season this Sunday, 2nd November 2008, at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium, Barkers Lane, Bedford.

 

Further sessions are planned for the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of November 2008 before the team breaks for the Christmas period.

 

Head Coach Chris Wallis said, "These sessions will be a chance for rookies to try American football for the first time. They will also be an ideal opportunity for experienced players to come and 'try out' the Blue Raiders and meet the coaching staff."

 

Wallis added, "We have a fantastic training facility at the Athletics Stadium and we will be using the stadium's indoor facilities during January and February. We know that our division is looking to be extremely competitive next season, and we are determined to get a head start on our opponents."

 

Each session will begin at 11:00 and finish at 14:00. You will need the clothing you would usually wear for sports such as Rugby or Soccer. It is essential that you have footwear with cleats or studs.
