London Rebels are contenders

New comers "London Rebels" have announced themselves as serious contenders in the BAFL Senior Flag division.

After a rocky start to the season, losing the Chichester Sharks (14-32), and also to the Leicester Eagles (7-41), the Rebels have gained momentum with 7 straight victories.  "Being the league newbies we had a thing or two to learn when we first came out,” claimed Brad Madison, team founder, Head Coach, and quarterback for the London Rebels, “and we learn quick."

This weekend, on Saturday 1st August, London hosted 3 huge match-ups that will most certainly have playoff implications.  Going into the games on August 1st there was a near 3 way tie for 2nd place.  The Rebels walked away with two victories beating the Chichester Sharks   by 26 – 13, and the injury stricken Jets by 26 - 0.  Game MVPs were Tim Eaton, with a hugely important interception against the Sharks, and Calvin Tarlton who had multiple TD receptions as well as one passing touchdown.

The Rebels now control their own destiny with their five remaining games of the season.  Watch for a hugely important rematch versus the Leicester Eagles on Aug 30th!
