Scores want to join the Revolution
Shropshire Revolution, the county’s only American Football team has been inundated with interest from potential players following two rookie ‘taster’ sessions.
After the second of the sessions held at the TCAT Superdome in
Coach Reid was impressed with the turn-out:
“The response this year has been overwhelming – at least double the amount of people who have attended each of our three previous rookie days.
I was very impressed with the calibre of athletes on show – we had people from a rugby and weight-lifting background and I was especially pleased with the amount of speed displayed by some of the new guys.
Coupled with the injection of new blood, we also have interest from some veteran players and we will hopefully be confirming their signing in the very near future.
“This year, more than any before, we are going to have a real fight for starting spots on this team and for a coach that is a really welcome dilemma. These are exciting times for the Revolution.”
Revolution will now take a two-week break before returning to their winter training venue for their first full training session on Sunday, 7 February.
Later that day the team will gather for their fourth annual Superbowl party as they watch the culmination of the NFL season at the Pheasant Public House in
