Taking over as Offensive Coordinator mid-way through the 2008 season, Reid quickly installed a new dynamic offence, which showed enormous potential last year.
In addition to his duties with Shropshire, Dave has furthered his American Football studies by assisting Coach Tony Athersmith at the national college champions Birmingham Lions.
Commenting on his promotion, Coach Reid said: "Today marks what can only be described as dream come true for me.
To be the Head Coach of this club truly is an honour - one that I'll do everything I can to do justice by delivering the success the club deserves.
Revolution General Manager Mark Lingwood added: “This appointment is richly deserved by Dave.
It has been a long process to find a new Head Coach and in many ways Dave was an obvious choice.
However, we wanted to ensure that we’d left no stone unturned in our search for a leader for this team.
“I have no doubt that with his enthusiasm, knowledge of the game and love for the Revolution, Dave’s leadership will be of massive benefit for the club.
I’d also like to pay thanks to the outgoing Head Coach Andy McAdam, not just for his leadership last year, but his role in appointing a successor.”
This weekend, Revolution begin the first of two rookie ‘taster’ sessions at the TCAT Superdome in Wellington. The session will be open to anyone 18 years old or over who is interested in trying out this exciting sport and starts at 9am on Sunday, 10th January.
