Cheetahs appoint new Head Coach
The Watford Cheetahs American Football team are pleased to announce the appointment of their new Head Coach, Drew Anderson.
Coach Anderson joined the Cheetahs in 2009 as Defensive Line Coach and Defensive Co-ordinator, overseeing a season-long performance that saw the club open their season with three defensive shut-outs and close out the year with a 4-6 record. Prior to joining the Cheetahs last season, Coach Anderson was Defensive Line Coach with the Farnham Knights, having started his career playing on both sides of the line for the Colchester Gladiators back in the eighties. Coach Anderson is very active within the league and is a supporter and member of BAFCA. Coach Anderson said, "The most important thing now is to find more players and staff and to show the league that we mean business this year."
GM Richard Barnes said, “We are delighted to welcome Coach Anderson to the team. I am confident that his work ethic, commitment and knowledge will have an enormous positive influence on the team, ensuring that we go from strength to strength over the course of the upcoming season and beyond.”
The Watford Cheetahs are holding rookie open days on November 29th and December 13th, where all over 18s are welcome regardless of size, speed or experience. Details can be found on www.watfordcheetahs.com.
