For the third year running the Nottingham Caesars manned a Lucozade drinks
station at the 2008 Robin Hood Festival of Running. The Festival included
a full marathon, half marathon and children's fun run.
“This event is becoming an annual fixture in the Caesar’s calendar,
and is a great way of raising the profile of the club, and the fact that the
game is played in the UK. With more than 10,000 runners taking part plus
countless spectators we can get the message out to a large amount of
people in a short space of time. Just as important is the fact that thousands
of pounds have been raised for good causes. The reception we got from the
runners and the crowds was great, several people have been following our
progress this year and congratulated us for doing so well. As for the runners
every single one was smiling by the time they had been past our station, as the
Caesars gave plenty of encouragement and banter. Taking part in this event is
always a great way to round the season off, as it is great fun and an
antidote to the intensity of the season”, said Caesars Team Manager John
Burnett.
