Blue Raiders end year on a high
After an exciting first season
of competitive football, the Bedfordshire Blue Raiders rounded off 2008
with a series practice sessions for players totally new to the sport and
experienced players thinking about being part of the Blue Raiders 2009 season.
Blue Raiders Head Coach Wallis said, "2008 was an incredible year for all
at the Blue Raiders, and it was important that we ended the year on a high.
We've recruited a promising group of new players and with most of last season’s
players returning it was great to finish with such a good practice
session."
The Blue Raiders will return to practice on the 11th January 2009 and are still
eager to recruit new players and coaches for next season.
Wallis continued, "Recruitment never stops, and new players are welcome to
join us at anytime. We also have one or two Assistant Coach positions still to
fill, and we hope to have this completed before we return in the new year.
We are specifically looking to appoint an Offensive Line Coach. Coach
Shaw has moved on to pastures new, and we wish him well in his new position,
but we have a young and loyal group of lineman and it's essential that we find
somebody soon to develop their skills further."
The Blue Raiders Winter Training Camp will open with a series of sessions
using the impressive indoor facilities at Bedford International Athletics
Stadium.
