The Lancashire Academy of
American Football is gearing up for the largest event of the year this Sunday,
22nd June, as it hosts a ‘Family Fun Day’ at Blackburn Rugby Union
Football Club, an event designed to give something back to the friends and
family of the players, as well as the local community.
The fun-filled, action-packed
day begins at 2:00 pm with food and drink being served throughout the day.
Bouncy castles, face painting and a ‘Bungee Run’ are among the main attractions
along with raffles and quizzes. There will also be the opportunity to try your
hand at both kitted and unkitted American football, fully supervised by the
Academy’s qualified and insured coaching staff.
The event will be the first
time all EIGHT of the Academy’s teams will have come together on the same day
with the Lancashire Wolverines, Chorley Buccaneers, Bolton Braves, Standish
Raiders all in attendance – the day is sure to be a great success!
American football in Lancashire
is hugely popular with over 200 boys and girls aged 8+ enjoying the sport all
over the region, from Bolton to Blackburn, Wigan to Preston. The Academy is one
of the largest in the country and boasts over 20 qualified coaches. All of its
eight teams, however, are continually looking for new players, coaches,
volunteers or even just fans. To get involved visit www.wolverineden.com today and we’ll
hopefully see you on the Gridiron!
