Rookie Recruitment Day

The 2008
BAFL Division 1 National Champions open their door to all comers on Sunday with
their Rookie recruitment day. This will be held at the team’s home ground of
Thunder Field., which is situated behind the old leisure centre.
All-comers
are welcome, any age, any size, if you would like to discover more about one of
the UK’s fastest growing sports come along and see what the game is all about.
We are especially on the lookout for BIG guys, in American football, being 6ft
4in and weighing 18 stones plus is an advantage, just as much as being slim,
fast and athletic if you are both, then even better.
You will be
put through a series of exercises and drills to assess your athletic ability
and to find out which position your skills are most suited to playing. All
these tests will be supervised by our team of vastly experienced coaches and
senior players.
All you
need to bring is football or rugby boots and shorts or sweats and a top which
you don’t mind getting extremely muddy. You will also be given a short lecture
on what the club and the game is all about. All equipment needed will be
supplied by the club.
So if you
looking for a new sport to take up, a winter sportsman looking for a way to
stay fit during the summer months come along and take a look. We have players
with a varied mixture of experience in other sports, rugby, football, kick
boxing, bodybuilding, hockey, boxing, you name it, and someone has probably
done it. If you like team sports, if you like physical sports American football
is the game for you.
#The
Thunder are recruiting for both their senior team, (18 years +) and its newly
formed Youth kitted team (15-19 years).
Team staff
will be on hand to answer any questions you may have on the day.
If you are
under 18 years of age you will need to bring a parent or guardian with you to
sign a registration form to enable you to take part.
Registration
begins at 11.00am sharp by the field.
