The Peterborough Saxons expanded their armoury this week when they received a cheque for £1000 from Tanks 4 A Ride, a local novelty hire company based in Stamford which hires out tanks and armoured people carriers for events such as air shows, military shows, school proms or even a simple trip to the pub.

In their second year of trading, Tanks’ saw the partnership between the Saxons and their parent company Neil’s Plant last season as an excellent opportunity for exposure and to increase their profile both locally and nationally, and in addition to the investment will also have their banners in a prominent position on the Saxons sideline during match days.

Tanks 4 A Ride owner Neil Whatling said, “When Darren (Griffiths) approached me to continue to sponsor the Saxons I didn’t hesitate to agree. Last year showed how much the club had developed and I was lucky enough to be associated with them during their most successful ever season. With the continued growth of the sport and the Peterborough Saxons organisation, I can only see a bright future for us both”.

Sponsorship Officer Darren Griffiths added “Id like to personally thank Neil for coming on board last year and making our first successful season memorable, to continue that relationship shows just how far this team has come. With sustained partnerships like the ones we have with Tanks 4 A Ride the future can only get better for the Peterborough Saxons”

The Saxons have already purchased some essential training equipment with the rest of the money used to cover the costs associated with staging a home game as well as kitting out the entire squad with training shirts and shorts.

If you would like to sponsor the Peterborough Saxons then call Darren Griffiths on 07740 933959 or email sponsorship@thesaxons.co.uk or to hire any Military Vehicles for special events, please contact Neil Whatling on 01780 720998.
