The Peterborough Saxons are preparing for big changes ahead of the 2009 season as they bid a fond farewell to Coaches Steve Rose and Brian Williams.

Rose was appointed Head Coach at the beginning of 2006, however, was a part of the backroom staff who began the club's turnaround in 2005 which transformed a 0 – 10 team into bona fide title contenders within three years.

While work commitments force Coach Rose to step down, he will remain involved with the club operationally but his availability will prevent him from resuming his coaching duties and triggers a period of transition for one of the BAFL’s fastest growing organisations.

Working commitments rob the Saxons of another key figure in the form of Defensive Coordinator Brian Williams who leaves the UK for Bahrain in October. Williams, stationed with the US Military at RAF Alconbury has been a revelation as the club conceded an average of just six points per game during his tenure. Known best for his passionate on field displays and rousing game day speeches, the Texan leaves big shoes to fill.

With annual recruitment event ‘The Gathering’ just two short months away, the Saxons are already making preparations for 2009, and this begins by inviting interested parties to apply for the Head Coaches position or register their interest in becoming a part of the 2009 coaching set-up.

Applicants must hold, or be working towards a BAFCA qualification and should register their interest in writing, appointments are subject to interview and roles are strictly voluntary.
