Wolverines and Colts announce Rookie Camps

The Lancashire Wolverines and Lancashire Wolverine Colts are pleased to announce their annual Rookie Camp for the 2010 season. The camp will take place on Sunday 10th January 2010 at the indoor astrodome at St Joseph's R.C. High School in Horwich, Bolton.

The opening Sunday of the Northern Youth Conference saw the season hardened Lancashire Wolverine Colts travel to the John Charles Stadium, Leeds, to face the rookie Yorkshire Rams franchise. With a new rivalry beginning, and the Battle of the Roses appearing in youth football for the first time, the scene was set for a tough contest.

Following a successful pre-season scrimmage against Tamworth Trojans and Bristol Aztecs, the Lancashire Wolverine Colts are looking forward to opening their season against local rivals Yorkshire Rams this Sunday April 13^th, in the first ‘War of the Roses’ game to be played at this level for almost 5 years. 2008 has seen numerous changes for the Lancashire Youth team, which caters for players aged 16-18, and is part of the Lancashire Academy of American Football. Yet again, the team has benefited from numerous graduates from the Academy’s excellent junior set-ups, the Chorley Buccaneers, the Bolton Braves and the Standish Raiders.
