Final Farewell?‏
Posted in: Farnham Fast Lane Knights, BAFL Premier    By Steve Rains Mar 9, 2008 - 4:56:02 PM

It is possible that the Britbowl Final weekend 2007 saw the end of the active involvement with the Knights of Coach Steve Rains and his wife, and Youth Team Manager, Jenny.
Originally away from the Knights for 6 months with an overseas work commitment on Guernsey the duo have just announced that the assignment has been extended for 3 years.

Jenny said "Leaving Knights Football is not an easy thing for either of us - but the working opportunity is just too good to turn down"

Steve added "We have lifelong memories, lifelong friends and a huge extended family from our involvement in the Knights. I will never forget the Awards night where every club member came up to say goodbye and Jen was so moved by the cards from her "Sunday Sons" that we received from the Youth Team on our 25th Anniversary in January"

" I hope that the Final last year will not be the last game I coach but if it is then a perfect season with a group of people who are simply the best would not be a bad way to finish"

Following a Superbowl broadcast on BBC Radio Guernsey Steve has been asked to consider resurrecting the Islands team - the jury is out on that one and in the meantime he has returned to refereeing the round ball football game!

Jenny concluded "We will of course be at some Knights games this year and we both wish the teams all the best for the new season"
