The Kent Exiles are extremely proud to announce today that Scott Rowe is to become the Head Coach of the Kent Exiles with immediate effect.
Coach Rowe has a proud history in the game, and is one of the most successful players that Great Britain has ever produced. Coach Rowe retired from playing after the 2005 season and went on to coach defensive backs and special teams at the London Olympians and Great Britain, before joining the Exiles as Defensive co-ordinator in 2008.

On his appointment Coach Rowe commented, “I learnt this year what a great organisation the Kent Exiles are, and I’m honoured the club has entrusted me with guiding them forward on the pitch. It is both a privilege and a relief to be part of an organisation that supports its staff and is so very ambitious. I’m looking forward to assembling a great staff to support me, and then improving our performances on the pitch in 2009. I have no doubt the future is very bright for this club”. Coach Rowe also paid tribute to outgoing Head Coach Norman Navarro who steps down for family reasons, “Coach Navarro had the foresight to bring me to the Exiles last season, and that was the opportunity which sees me here today succeeding him as Head Coach.”
"As a club we're delighted”, commented Exiles Chairman Dave Pester, "Coach Rowe is as experienced as they come, having played consistently at the highest level, and can only do good things for this club. We know his dedication and coaching ethos can only improve us. Now we're looking forward to another challenging season in BAFL 1 and moving the club forwards again through his coaching guidance".
Coach Rowe is now hard at work on the Exiles pre-season training schedule, as well as evaluating his current squad and formalising his coaching staff. Coach Rowe will also be happy to hear from any players interested in joining the team, and can be contacted via the club website
