Early in the second quarter Tigers broke the deadlock when
Scott Watson scampered 12 yards up field for the touchdown and the sure foot of
Andrew Burns slotted home the extra points. The third quarter saw
Tigers’ Jason Gillespie take an early shower for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Neither side were able to progress the ball in the third quarter but early in
the fourth the away side were celebrating when Keiran Philips sprinted 34 yards
up field then capped it off with a 3 yard touchdown run. Once more the
boot of Andrew Burns kicked the extra points. Both sides swapped possessions
before Tigers Andrew Burns showed his versatility when he hauled it in an 8
yard Alan Steen pass for the last touchdown of the day. This time the extra
point kick was blocked by a resurgent Hawks defense. Although Hawks tried
hard they were unable to find a way through the Tigers defense.
The Hawks would like to thank everyone who helped at the
game.
Clyde Valley’s next game is away to Tigers at Cambuslang
Rugby Club on 1st June.
