It is with great sadness that the Cambridgeshire Cats announce that second year player and Team Captain, Glen Paveley, passed away last Thursday.
Glen, age 23, had been with the Cats since 2004 and was a natural team leader. This was evident in his work ethic, his charisma, and the way he cared for his friends and teammates on and off the field.
The thoughts and prayers of all involved with the BAFL are with his family, loved ones and friends. As a mark of respect, the Cats have retired his jersey, # 82.
Many tributes have come in from those close to the team, and Exiles Head Coach James Mitchell summed up the feelings of many, “He was not only a great football player, but a real friend. He always had that contagious smile on his face, and I will miss that the most.”
He will never be forgotten.
