The Cambridgeshire Cats look to amend the record books as they take their undefeated season to bogey team Colchester. The Gladiators have the historical edge over Cambridgeshire, holding 6 victories from the teams 7 previous meetings, the most recent of these providing additional motivation for the Cats. The last Cats visit to Wivenhoe in 2006 saw them relinquish a 9 point lead with just 2 minutes to go, thanks to a miraculous onside kick recovery and last second touchdown pass. Colchester then compounded the woes at Cats Field when they came from 19 points behind to win in the fourth quarter. Just 5 points separating the 2006 rivals was the margin that saw Colchester promoted as Divisional winners and kept the Cats out of the playoffs.

Now the 6-0 Cats are the BAFL 2 East Conference pace setters and look to all but clinch the East title against the 3-2 Gladiators. The Cats have averaged 36 points on offensive, while defensively they only allow an average of 3 points per game. Colchester’s rate is nearer 14 for 13 against. The game is a late 16:30 kickoff at Wivenhoe Football Club, Colchester.
