The Cambridgeshire Cats are delighted to announce the re-signing and imminent return of defensive tackle Robert “Mad-Dog” Magee. The 6 foot, 220 pound American caused havoc in opposition backfields during the 2006 season, earning his nickname for his single-track on-field mentality.
The 33 year old returns after missing the entire pre-season due to work commitments. At one point he seemed sure to end his career after just a single season with the Cats. However, thing changed recently enabling his return! “I am glad to be back and look forward to helping our team advance towards the post season!” Magee said.
Initially a quiet and reserved newcomer, Mad-Dog soon became the voice of the team with his on-field war cries and dressing room insights, the return of such an experienced motivator is sure to bolster the camaraderie of the youthful Cats.
Coach Bice stated, “While his return will be short-lived, he will be a force to be reckoned with while he is with us!”
The Cats have undoubtedly missed his on-field presence and will benefit directly from the return of their 2006 leader in sacks and tackles for loss.
