The Birmingham Bulls are proud to announce that Sharkey and Company Ltd. will be joining the Bulls organisation as a major partner. The Birmingham based building company that specialises in roofing and cladding has provided the much needed sponsorship required to help fund the clubs ambitious re-building program.
“We are very grateful to Sharkey’s for their support, especially in the current economic climate.” said Dave Cottrell club chairman. “I would also like to thank Brendan Cunnane who was instrumental in securing the sponsorship deal for the club. Brendan has worked tirelessly for the club over the years both on and off the field”.
2009 has been a tough season for the Bulls seniors, and this good news will help to raise spirits at the club. The small senior squad led by Head Coach Colin Branagh has shown a lot of heart and has battled hard through the second half of the season trying to make up for the slow start in May.
Despite their brave efforts, the seniors have missed out on the play-offs for this year. “This is obviously disappointing for the players who gave their all on the field, but we should not be too downhearted as there are many positives which came out of this season”, said Dave Cottrell. “We have found the coaches we needed to expand our staff at both senior and youth levels. We have picked up some excellent rookie players this year who have proved themselves in their first year with the club, and the youth program has been a big success and will provide several quality players for the seniors next season. Now with Sharkey and Co. coming onboard the pieces of the jigsaw are starting to fall into place”.
